The new Guardians of the Galaxy will not only feature a new character, with Iron Man, but a totally new look as well.

In an interview with Marvel.com, the new artist on Guardians of the Galaxy, Steve McNiven, says that the Guardians will be getting a different look, one not in sync with the previous version that was partially designed by Brad Walker.

We are trying to give each of them an individual look that reflects their character, which is a real challenge; definitely moving away from the WW1 outfit look. They will have an emblem on their costumes that ties into the story but it will be on different locations on their gear. They will also have a variety of outfits, from more casual ship wear to deep space battle suits.

In addition, McNiven let it be known in a previous interview that Star-Lord's helmet will be getting a new look as well.

Guardians of the Galaxy has a special .1 release in February with the first issue in March.
